Isla Wall

Hand & Eye teamed up with Sue Pryke- a celebrated ceramicist and designer- to develop a new lighting range around her signature through-coloured porcelain. The Isla wall light is their first collaboration. The Isla is a pared back and minimal up and down wall light, simple in form but rich in texture, colour and warmth. The porcelain is coloured throughout the clay rather than being glazed, giving it a special richness. The ceramic is left raw externally creating a beautiful matt surface that blends well with walls. To create a subtle contrast the interior of the shade has a clear gloss glaze applied, also helping to ensure good light output. Each shade and matching ceramic back plate is slip cast and finished by hand in Sue Pryke’s UK studio. The hand-crafted nature of the product means that each Isla is subtly different with its own idiosyncrasies, rather than being carbon copies. The light uses a high-quality integrated LED module guaranteeing high output, energy efficiency and consistency of light quality as well as a long lifespan. The Isla lights are perfect for spaces small and large, adding a hint of colour to a wall, creating a warmth even when the light is switched off. When illuminated, the wall is washed in a lovely glow and the colour of the shade takes on a different tone.
