Organix Lounge Daybed - Royal Botania

Royal Botania

Royal Botania, founded in 1992 by Kris Van Puyvelde, has transformed the landscape of luxury outdoor furniture, carving a niche for itself in the hospitality, contract, and residential markets. Driven by a vision to elevate outdoor spaces with furniture as refined as what was found indoors, Royal Botania has become synonymous with exquisite design, exceptional quality, and timeless pieces that grace both private residences and prestigious hospitality venues.

The company’s success lies in its unwavering commitment to three core principles: aesthetics, ergonomics, and durability. Their dedicated, though small, design team meticulously crafts pieces that seamlessly blend these elements, resulting in furniture that is both beautiful and functional, perfectly suited for the rigors of commercial use in the hospitality industry or creating a lasting impression in residential settings.

Overview & History

Sensing a void in the 1990s outdoor furniture market, designers Kris Van Puyvelde and Frank Boschman co-founded Royal Botania to fill the gap with high-quality, teak-wood pieces. Today, over 800 employees, including a 50-person design team at their Antwerp headquarters, craft iconic luxury furniture for residential and contract markets.

In 2002, Royal Botania ensured access to premium teak by opening a production plant near Bangkok, Thailand. Their commitment to sustainability led them to establish the 500-acre Green Forest Plantation Co. in 2011, planting over 250,000 teak trees by 2014. This climate-conscious approach reflects their dedication to responsible sourcing and enduring quality, solidifying Royal Botania's position as a global leader in luxury outdoor furniture.
